Magda is an enigmatic and talented dancer that captivates the hearts of her audiences through her interpretation of the oriental melodies. She commenced her training in this style of traditional Arabic dance at the age of 15, without any idea or intention of professional pursuit. Magda is now a full time performer and began performing for the Arabic and Ethnic communities of Sydney in 2002. Since this time Magda has also been invited to perform interstate at many occasions Australia wide. Magda has studied in Australia and Egypt with some of the top teachers and choreographers including; Mohamed Kazafy, Randa Kamal, Yasmina of Cairo, Suraya Hilal, Caroline and Keti Sharif to name a few.
Magda's passions are in the folkloric and traditional styles of the dance such as Raqs Baladi, Raqs Assaya and Romany Gypsy where these styles are quite earthy as well as  Shaabi and Eskandarani, which have more of a playful, cheeky and humorous quality that shines through in the dance. Magda is strongly skilled in the use of the cane, shamadan in zaffi processions and also possesses a growing interest in Modern Classical Egyptian, which is where the dance is seemingly evolving to at present.
Magda has performed at various events of all calibers including Variety Children's Charity 4x4, Jeans for Genes and the CWA. Annual events such as Mind, Body and Spirit Festival and National Egypt Day both held in Darling Harbor. Twice a year performs at Rose's Restaurant in Cooma. Arab Bank, UTS Unions, Councils such as Bankstown and Sutherland Shire and RSL clubs. Magda has also had TV appearances on Channel V- choreographing and parading on a cat walk fashion show with an eastern oriental theme, SBS interview and performance for Fork Films producing the show "Here come the Neighbors" and Channel 7 for "Sydney Weekender".
Magda quotes "Coming from an ethic eastern European background I totally adore how many foreign cultures in Australia have the ability to be so strong and play such an important roll in peoples lives. Its a gift they pass on to the next generation, in hope that it will carry on and not be lost. We are so blessed that we have the space and tolerance to share such richness. I see it as our responsibility to maintain its preservation in its truest and original form".
